Ricky’s back:

The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced that guard Ricky Rubio will be in uniform and is expected to make his season debut tonight when the Wolves take on the Dallas Mavericks at Target Center at 7:00 p.m.

“I’m excited to get back on the floor with my teammates and play in front of the best fans in the NBA at Target Center,” said Rubio. “After a long recovery, this is the first step in me getting back on the court and helping my teammates. Thank you to the fans for their support over the last nine months.”

This is going to be fun.

  1. I remember he could run an offense. He would throw an across-the-court pass to beat the Heat, I remember. He’s now part of a rotation I’ve never seen so thorough. The Hornets had us scoring from all over. Last night especially Luke and the Russian guy played very well. Is that because Rubio is being added into the mix of minutes?

At this level of play, Rubio doesn’t need to help a lot right away for us to win. Really a wonderful team, who is passing so well. God forbid someone regular gets moved. I know whoever did could run another team ( for example, the guy from Dallas could’ve run Dallas). But I would think a player would prefer quality ball over more touches with another team.

Now that Love is out, it really should be wonderful to watch. My breath and heart slow when he’s catching up down the court or getting packed for the tenth time. Fortunately, Pek has looked different: perhaps he’s more comfortable feeling like he’s on a European team.

I saw trade rumors for Williams. I will predict we get a big for him. With that, won’t we just be complete.

  2. If that video doesn’t pump you up nothing will. But if they come out of the tunnel wearing those woeful Muskies uniforms I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch. They’ve been haunting my dreams ever since that injury…

  3. I’m glad he will play for the timberwolves and not the mavs.

  4. It’s nice to hear him say how much he appreciates the fans as opposed to Love’s whining. Hope everything goes good and there aren’t any setbacks because this team is really fun to watch. It’ll be interesting to see if Spaniard and the 2 Russians get to play together.

  5. ^^^ Oh Tim, what a spot on comment. I wouldn’t consider myself superstitious, but it was hard to watch any and all conceivably bad things happen to the Wolves last year when they donned their muskie uniforms. Bad voodoo…

  6. I just hope that everyone gets healthy in time for a playoff run, this team is very dangerous at full health w/o making any trades.
