The Wolves had four players in the Rising Stars Game on Friday night. Zach LaVine, Shabazz Muhammad and the USA squad fell 121–112 to the World team, led by Gorgui Dieng and Andrew Wiggins, who took home MVP honors following his electrifying six dunk performance. Wiggins and LaVine tied for the game high in points (22 apiece), Dieng had 14 and Muhammad had 10.
Each of the four Timberwolves in the game had their moments to shine, but none as brightly (and as often) as Wiggins:
This sweet reverse 360 is worth another look:
Zach LaVine was as fun as expected as well, hitting 9 of his 11 field goal attempts, including three dunks and two threes:
LaVine also displayed a Rubio-esque ball spin on this dribble drive that ended with a slam:
Gorgui Dieng did the usual big man bit in All-Star settings – stand near the rim, catch and finish interior passes:
And finally, Shabazz did his usual Shabazzmatazz, throwing down two thunderous dunks and collecting four offensive rebounds:
It was a fun night to be a Timberwolves fan. Yeah, meaningless exhibition, yadda yadda yadda. Who cares? The kids are alright, and a hell of a lot of fun to watch.
The future looks bright, I think.
