The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday morning that they will be revealing the team’s new logo for the 2017-18 season during halftime of the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on April 11th as a part of Fan Appreciation Night.

Although only the logo will be revealed on April 11th, the team press release also stated that “there will be several future announcements regarding the unveiling of the new team uniforms, new court designs, and additional events throughout the coming months.”

Images of the new color scheme, which has yet to be officially announced and will undoubtedly be revealed along with the logo (would be pretty weird/impossible to not reveal both at the same time), began to appear during the middle of February via season ticket holders that showed what the new colorway will most likely be.

Many fans have clamored for the Wolves to return to their original light blue and green, but if the ticket holder package and banner announcing the date of the logo reveal (pictured above) are to be believed, it looks as if the Wolves new colors will feature navy blue and a lime-ish green. If you look closely, you’ll also notice that a tree motif can be seen in the upper left side of the banner. Perhaps that means trees will once again be incorporated into the logo/jerseys?

    Also, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Navy and lime might be cool. Anything is better than our black/white with only mid-blue trim look now.

Big fan of the darker blue and bringing back some shade of green. I wonder if the text on that announcement is also a clue. I do hate the light grey because it’s such a weak addition as a 3rd color, and apparently that’s part of this. A darker green would’ve been nicer but it’s just good to see that color returning. Hopefully they can figure out the text so that the numbers aren’t weird anymore, and the sleeved jerseys that look like pajamas also go away. I’m also kind of dreading whatever ad is going to be on there.

Lame. Why not change your uniforms when you’re a winning team? Get rid of LaVine, bring in an angry old vet who can play 30 tough minutes at the 3, and let Wiggins play his most efficient position all night, learn how to win, get in the playoffs before Taylor sells out to Seattle, then worry what freaking colors you wear. This team is just so comically clueless at the top, except they’re making so much money doing so. Watch, April 11th will be the date the Wolves are officially excluded from the playoffs. This is my favorite team in sports, but they get dumber and dumber as they seasons pass, and sometimes I wonder how long this clunky operation can last.
