The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday morning that they will be revealing the team’s new logo for the 2017-18 season during halftime of the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on April 11th as a part of Fan Appreciation Night.
Although only the logo will be revealed on April 11th, the team press release also stated that “there will be several future announcements regarding the unveiling of the new team uniforms, new court designs, and additional events throughout the coming months.”
Images of the new color scheme, which has yet to be officially announced and will undoubtedly be revealed along with the logo (would be pretty weird/impossible to not reveal both at the same time), began to appear during the middle of February via season ticket holders that showed what the new colorway will most likely be.
Many fans have clamored for the Wolves to return to their original light blue and green, but if the ticket holder package and banner announcing the date of the logo reveal (pictured above) are to be believed, it looks as if the Wolves new colors will feature navy blue and a lime-ish green. If you look closely, you’ll also notice that a tree motif can be seen in the upper left side of the banner. Perhaps that means trees will once again be incorporated into the logo/jerseys?
