As we near training camp and await Monday’s long-awaited (at least for the 4 of us) Media Day, the Timberwolves continue to round out the crew they’ll bring into training camp and the preseason. Today, Tom Thibodeau and Co. kept at it and brought on Rasual Butler on an unguaranteed training camp deal.
Sources: Minnesota will sign veteran Rasual Butler on non-guaranteed deal. Butler made Pacers, Wizards, Spurs out of camp over past 3 years.

Now a 10 year pro, Butler spent last season with the San Antonio Spurs, but only played in 46 games, and shot just 30 percent in 9.4 minutes per game of action. His last year of 20+ mpg action was with Washington in the 2014-15 season, when he played 20.1 minutes and shot nearly 39 percent from deep.
The prototypical size of an NBA wing, Butler loves to run the floor on the fast break (and is probably giddy at the idea of playing, even a little bit, with Ricky Rubio), and has decent touch from three-point land.
But with Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, Shabazz Muhammad, and Brandon Rush on the roster, it’s tough to see where minutes could be for Butler, but his veteran savvy and touch from outside give him a shot at this roster.
Here’s a look at Butler’s best game last season:
